Overspeed training has been used by coaches for decades to increase leg speed. To run faster, you need to re-program your neurological system to contract your muscles faster and increase your cadence (also known as turnover). Using a high-speed treadmill, you are fitted in a special harness and unweighted by a hoist allowing you to perfect your mechanics and move your legs faster than you are able to do under the load of your full bodyweight. Over the course of a few sessions the amount of lift applied to your body is reduced as your neuro-muscular system begins to sync up resulting in increased speed and better finishing times.
