Phase IV Move of the Day: Core Circuit

April 25, 2018

By Matt Larkin, PHASE IV Exercise Specialist

CORE CIRCUIT

We often hear people talking about wanting a stronger “core,” or improving core / trunk stability, but what exactly is our “core” anyways? Believe it or not, your abs are not the ONLY component of your core! The core is actually made up of your mid-section, primarily the abdominal region that covers your glutes, ribcage, and everything in between! Core stability and strength is extremely important as one of the main purposes of the core is to protect the spine while moving. Hence, the more stable foundation you have there, the better off you are and decrease your risk of injury. Get a kick start on improving your core stability by incorporating this week’s featured PHASE IV Move of the Week – A 15-minute core circuit.

This is the perfect addition to your current strength routine or a quick and effective workout on its own for when you’re pressed for time. Using only body weight, this is a circuit you can do in the comfort of your own home, your hotel room or your office!

You’ll want to do 3 rounds of the circuit Matt takes you through to complete the full workout.

Want to workout with Matt? Come join our weekly FTS Quad Loops Classes every Tuesday and Thursday in Santa Monica.

P.S. Don’t forget to join Matt Larkin, PHASE IV Exercise Specialist at PHASE IV every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:15pm for a 50-minute FTS Quad Loops class that will strengthen, tone and burn calories!
